WORDS & MEANING

February 2, 2022

The JP van den Bent foundation supports people in their lives. For example; with living, working, enjoying free time and contacts with others. The words ownership, professionalism, approachability, transparency, trust and learning capacity form the core of their policy. But what exactly do these words mean? Director Joos Vaessens asked me to make posters of each of these words to start conversations. What does these words mean to you? How do you come across them in your work and what can they bring you, the residents and their relatives?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

January 7, 2022

Do you have plans, wishes or ideas for the new year? I’m looking forward to make large works, but also smaller paintings, family portraits, illustrations, perhaps also in combination with short texts, playing, trying out, collaborating with existing and new clients, perhaps making an illustrated booklet, but above all I look forward to pleasant surprises!

So much is possible. Let me know if I can make something for you in this new year!

Family Portrait, acrylic on canvas

This is the last work I made last year. A family portrait, acrylic on canvas, 130 cm. x 90cm. It’s now at the frame shop, soon it will hang in the house of Sjoerd, Sofia, Isabel and Charito!

LARGE

January 7, 2022

Last summer I bought 10 large sheets of thick paper. I spread 9 of them on the floor and started painting. It’s an interpretation of a black and white photograph by Martin Parr. What a pleasure when I saw the whole piece hanging last October in the exhibition of our painting group at the Dingemanshuis!

IPAD DRAWINGS

By Leontine, May 17, 2021

The last weeks I’ve been exploring illustrating on my iPad. What wonderful new possibilities this brings! After making a large commissioned line illustration (soon to be shown!), I tried my first iPad-portrait after a photo by Jack Garofalo for Paris Match in 1970 of David Hockney. I’m happily surprised about the freeness I feel while drawing on an iPad!

Welcome!

I am a Dutch illustrator, living and working in Utrecht.

I illustrate for companies, writers, public speakers and researchers. I love to hear their stories and help to concretize and complement these with my drawings.

I also paint what I see, what strikes me or inspires me: people, exhibitions, photography, fashion… I make portraits of kids, friends and families on location.

Would you like me to illustrate your book, article or presentation or would you like me to make a portrait of your loved ones? Give me a call or send me an email!

On this page I share my latest work and news. Check out my portfolio for more.
